This summer EBLS had a new test: the refined palate and travel expertise of consumer travel writer Wendy Perrin. Perrin, who is Condé Nast Traveler's consumer news editor and an award-winning columnist (The Perrin Report) and blogger (The Perrin Post), has been singled out for years by critics for her ability to find great deals and fantastic getaways.
"It was a highlight of my trip to the Bay Area," Perrin wrote in her blog. "What I loved most: Guests can access the tower whenever they like, day or night." According to Perrin, she had never heard of EBLS, but her husband surprised her with an overnight getaway.
For its proximity to San Francisco, yet remarkable seclusion and exoticness, Perrin says East Brother is "a secret every smart traveler should know." She and her husband explored the island, made new friends, discovered new foods, and enjoyed their view from the San Francisco Room.
